Love

Bible Verses on Love:

God Of Love:

John 3:16-  “For God so loved the world,that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

Romans 5:8- “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Galatians 2:20 - “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

1 John 3:1- “See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.”

Many people in this world have a mixed up conception of who God really is.  They don’t understand that God is the God of Love and so much more.  They look at all the bad and evil in this world and wonder, how can there be a loving God, if there is so much sin, hate, evil, in this world.  Even though there is evil, God allows it to happen, as it is part of His will for a better plan for everyone. He allows these thing so that many can come to the true knowledge of him and be saved.  For He first loved us and willingly sent His son to die for us, so that we may one day live with Him in Heaven.

Loving one Another:

Romans 13:8-  “Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.”

Galatians 5:13-  “For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.”

1 John 4:7-  “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.”

God commands us to love one another as we love ourselves.  God is the God of loves and wants His own creations to mimic Him in this way.  We need to love everyone we come into contact with, whether that is a stranger, a friend, or an enemy.  Because God first loved us, we need to love Him and others.  For love does not destroy, but brings people together in unison.  Love is both a word and an action, and we need to set our actions so that they can define us as someone who has Christ in their heart.
